Glenn Martens named Maison Margiela creative director

Glenn Martens has officially been appointed as the new creative director of Maison Margiela, succeeding John Galliano, who departed in December 2024 after a decade at the brand. The announcement, confirmed by parent company OTB, had been widely anticipated within the fashion industry. Martens, already part of the OTB family as creative director of Diesel since 2022, is expected to maintain his role there while leading Margiela. A graduate of Antwerp’s Royal Academy of Fine Arts, Martens previously helmed Y/Project before its closure in early 2025. Known for his avant-garde approach, he brings a strong Belgian design pedigree back to Margiela.
