Shanghai to welcome Harry Potter and Peppa Pig theme parks by 2027
During the 2025 Shanghai Two Sessions, Zhang Qi, deputy director of the Shanghai Municipal Bureau of Culture and Tourism, announced that Shanghai will soon be home to both a Harry Potter-themed park and a Peppa Pig-themed park, in addition to the upcoming opening of Lego Land in May. The Peppa Pig park, set to open in 2027, will span 300 acres on Changxing Island in Chongming District. The Harry Potter park, which will revamp the former Jinjiang Amusement Park, will offer immersive experiences and recreate iconic scenes from the films. It will become the third Harry Potter park globally, joining existing locations in London and Tokyo.
