Spanish fashion group STL acquires Christian Lacroix

Spanish fashion group Sociedad Textil Lonia (STL) has announced the completion of its acquisition of the French haute couture brand Christian Lacroix. Founded in Paris in 1987 by the designer of the same name, Christian Lacroix is a haute couture brand often compared to Dior and Chanel. Since its first haute couture women’s collection for Fall/Winter 1987, the brand has maintained its signature luxurious and flamboyant design style. In 2002, Christian Lacroix was acquired by LVMH, but the brand filed for bankruptcy in 2009 and was later sold to the American duty-free company Falic.
