China winter tourism surges as Harbin leads recovery
Travelers have begun planning their winter getaways. Popular winter destinations include Harbin, Changchun, Sanya, Haikou, and ski resorts like Altai and Changbai Mountain. Harbin remains a leading destination, attracting tourists with its unique ice and snow landscapes and activities. According to travel data, Harbin’s hotel bookings saw a significant increase in November, with a 50% rise in bookings compared to last year, while other cities in Heilongjiang province also experienced growth. In addition to ice and snow tourism, hot springs, wellness, and family-friendly destinations are also popular this winter. The competition among regions is heating up as they try to attract more visitors, with destinations like Alxa and Aba benefiting from improved infrastructure and transportation links.
