Chengdu International Aviation Hub yesterday welcomed its 80 millionth passenger, making it the third city in mainland China, after Shanghai and Beijing, to surpass 80 million annual air travelers. The Chengdu International Aviation Hub includes both Chengdu Shuangliu and Tianfu airports. As of the end of October, the hub operates 50 international passenger routes and 33 cargo routes. Sichuan Airport Group expects the annual passenger throughput to exceed 87 million, with a forecasted increase to over 100 million passengers by 2027.
