Zara exits Hong Kong’s Metro City after 13 years

According to multiple reports, Zara has closed its store at Metro City Plaza in Tseung Kwan O, Hong Kong, ending 13 years of operation. This move is part of Inditex’s recent strategy to reduce its number of stores in Hong Kong, which has decreased Zara’s presence in the region to just 10 locations, with only the Sha Tin New Town Plaza store remaining operational in the eastern New Territories. Zara signed a lease for the New Town Plaza location in 2012, with a store area of 5,760 sqm, making it the largest fashion retailer in the mall at the time. Meanwhile, the group’s brands Bershka and Pull & Bear have also exited the Hong Kong market.
