Unilever posts Q3 growth despite China challenges

Unilever’s Q3 trading statement revealed strong volume-led growth, with a turnover of approximately $16.2 billion (15.2 billion euros) and underlying sales growth (USG) of 4.5%. The Beauty and Wellbeing division reported a USG of 6.7% and turnover of about $3.4 billion (3.2 billion euros), while Personal Care had a USG of 4.4% and turnover of approximately $3.6 billion (3.4 billion euros). In Beauty and Wellbeing, Hair Care saw low-single-digit growth, with brands like Dove and TreSemmé performing well. Core Skin Care achieved mid-single-digit growth, driven by strong sales of Dove and Pond’s. Health & Wellbeing and Prestige Beauty together recorded double-digit growth for the 15th consecutive quarter, although Prestige faced a slowdown. However, overall growth was impacted by deflation in India and declines in China.
