Unilever considers selling prestige skincare brands amid restructuring

Unilever, the British conglomerate renowned for its diverse portfolio of hygiene, cosmetic, and food products, is considering a strategic overhaul of its Prestige division, potentially selling skincare brands Kate Somerville and Ren Clean Skincare. Although the company, which integrated these brands into its Prestige division after acquiring them in 2015, has not confirmed these reports, it has enlisted PricewaterhouseCoopers to explore sale options. This speculation follows significant leadership changes, including the departure of Vasiliki Petrou, CEO of Unilever Prestige, and Ren Clean Skincare’s CEO, Michelle Brett. Amid these developments, Unilever has also announced plans to cut approximately 3,200 jobs in Europe by the end of 2025 as part of a broader global restructuring plan. Despite these challenges, Unilever reported a 2.3% YoY revenue increase for the first half of the year, driven by volume growth.
