Beiersdorf yesterday released its Q3 2024 earnings report, showing strong organic sales growth of 6.5% YoY, reaching 7.5 billion euros ($8.15 billion) in the first nine months. The consumer business grew by 7.3% to 6.3 billion euros (about $6.8 billion). Key growth drivers included a rebound in North America and success in emerging markets. Regionally, organic growth was 4.2% in Europe, 5.2% in the Americas, and 11.3% in Africa/Asia/Australia. However, La Prairie experienced a 7.3% decline in sales, mainly due to economic challenges in Greater China. Beiersdorf remains cautious about La Prairie’s short-term outlook in China but sees it as a key growth opportunity. CEO Vincent Warnery noted that Beiersdorf’s exposure to the high-end skincare market in China is significantly lower than competitors.
