Foreign entries to China jump 48.8% as visa-free travel rises

China reported 160 million border crossings in Q3, up 30.1% YoY. This included 78.545 million crossings by mainland residents, 64.694 million by residents from Hong Kong, Macau, and Taiwan, and 16.461 million by foreign nationals, reflecting increases of 27.3%, 28.9%, and 50.5%, respectively. Notably, foreign nationals made 8.186 million entries at China’s ports, a 48.8% rise, with 4.885 million being visa-free, up 78.6%.
