NEV makers capitalize on Golden Week promotions
During the National Day holiday, China’s automotive market experienced a surge in sales, particularly among new energy vehicle manufacturers who capitalized on promotional opportunities. Reports from various dealerships in Shanghai indicated a significant increase in customer traffic and order volumes, with some brands, like Xiaomi and Nio, offering substantial discounts and incentives. For instance, Nio provided cash subsidies based on vehicle price tiers, while Xiaomi’s SU7 saw strong sales, particularly the Pro version. Other brands, such as Huawei’s Aito and Leapmotor, also reported impressive order numbers during this period. The overall market sentiment was boosted by new vehicle launches and policies supporting vehicle scrappage and trade-ins. The China Automotive Dealers Association forecasted continued strong demand into October, driven by these promotions and a favorable market environment.
