China’s Golden Week travel rebounds, reports Fliggy
Fliggy yesterday released its “2024 National Day Holiday Travel Report,” showing a surge in tourism consumption during the Golden Week. When compared on a like-for-like basis, bookings for domestic high-star hotels, package tours, and car rentals saw significant YoY growth. Outbound travel continued its strong upward trend from last year, with bookings increasing by over 50% compared to the previous year, and international hotel bookings have returned to about 120% of 2019 levels. The cost-effectiveness of traveling during this year’s National Day holiday has improved further, with average domestic flight and hotel bookings decreasing by approximately 13% and 6%, respectively, compared to last year, while international flight and hotel bookings fell by about 19% and 3%.
