Off-White closed its last domestic store, located at Hangzhou Hubin Yintai Mall on September 29. Previously, the brand had shut down four stores in Shanghai, Chengdu, and Xi’an in August 2022, and then closed its locations in Sanlitun Taikoo Li and the Galeries Lafayette in Xidan in March, exiting the Beijing market. In response to the closures of multiple stores in China, the Off-White team released a statement indicating that the company is currently adjusting its brand’s omnichannel positioning and image, including retail, to better align with the fashion vision of the new creative director, Ibrahim Kamara. To meet the expectations of Chinese consumers, the brand plans to start reopening offline stores in China as early as 2024 and will host a series of marketing activities. Additionally, there are reports that LVMH intends to reclaim the rights to distribute Off-White in China from IT, with plans to expand the brand’s presence in the market under a new store concept. Currently, Off-White only has two outlet discount stores in China, located in the Shanghai Florence Village and the Tianjin Florence Village.
