Changan's Avatr brand enters Thailand's luxury EV market
Chinese automaker Changan Automobile has launched its premium electric vehicle (EV) brand Avatr in Thailand, unveiling the Avatr 11, an SUV coupe, as part of its effort to expand in the country’s luxury automotive market. This is Changan’s fourth model introduction in Thailand, featuring modern design, advanced battery technology, and cutting-edge driving assistance systems. The brand is developed in partnership with battery manufacturer CATL and tech giant Huawei, aiming to lead smart automotive innovation. Thailand’s Deputy Prime Minister highlighted the importance of such investments in boosting the economy. Changan’s $265 million investment in a local EV plant, set to open in 2025, aligns with Thailand’s goal of producing EVs.
