During this year’s summer travel rush (July 1 to August 31), China set a record with 140 million air passenger trips, averaging 2.289 million per day, a 17.7% increase over 2019 and 12.3% more than 2023. The average passenger load factor was 83.9%, and 1.157 million flights were operated, with domestic flights up by 2.1% compared to 2023. International flights surged by 67.7%, reaching 77.1% of 2019 levels. The national flight punctuality rate improved to 77.3%, 4.7 percentage points higher than last year and 2.8 points above 2019 levels.
