BYD to self-distribute Denza luxury brand in Singapore

Chinese automotive giant BYD is bringing its luxury brand Denza to Singapore and will handle its distribution directly, unlike its approach for mainstream EVs. BYD has appointed Vantage Automotive, a subsidiary of Malaysian conglomerate Sime Darby, and China Harmony Auto Holding as dealers for Denza ahead of its official launch in October. Both dealers will establish dedicated showrooms for the brand, with the first Denza model being the D9 large multi-purpose vehicle. BYD’s decision to self-distribute Denza aligns with the sales structure of German luxury brands like Audi, BMW, and Mercedes-Benz in Singapore, a shift from the traditional model where an independent entity serves as both distributor and dealer. This move aims to recover distribution margins to support market strategies, such as achieving volume dominance.
