China's auto exports surge 28.8% YoY, NEV sales up 11.4%

According to the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers, China exported 469,000 cars in July, down 3.2% YoY from June but up 19.6% YoY. From January to July, exports totaled 3.26 million units, a 28.8% increase YoY, with passenger cars at 2.738 million units, up 30.1%. New energy vehicle exports grew 11.4% to 708,000 units, though pure electric vehicle exports fell 4.6% to 554,000 units. Plug-in hybrid exports soared 1.8 times to 154,000 units. Among the top-10 exporters, BYD’s exports surged 1.4-fold to 238,000 units, Great Wall Motors increased 58.8% to 240,000 units, and Changan Automobile grew 57.9% to 326,000 units.
