Temasek plans $30B US investments, turns cautious on China

According to Bloomberg, Singapore’s state-owned investment firm Temasek Holdings plans to invest $30 billion in the US market over the next five years and is taking a cautious stance on investments in China. Jane Atherton, Temasek’s President for North America, said, “The Americas will continue to be the largest region for capital reception.” This year, Temasek’s investments in North and South America have surpassed those in China for the first time in at least a decade. Investments in the Americas now account for 22% of Temasek’s portfolio, or $63 billion, while China represents 19% and Singapore 27%.
