Italian luxury group Prada reported a 14% YoY revenue increase to 2.55 billion euros ($2.78 billion) for the first half of the year, with profits up 25.6% to 380 million euros ($410 million). Prada’s gross profit margin fell to 79.8%. Miu Miu’s revenue surged 93% to 530 million euros ($575 million), while Prada’s core brand grew 6% to 1.71 billion euros ($1.86 billion). Church’s revenue rose 15% to 15 million euros ($16 million), and other brands saw a 12% increase to 10 million euros ($11 million). The group credits Prada’s strong performance to a balanced product mix and highlights positive feedback for Miu Miu. Analysts note Miuccia Prada is focusing more on Miu Miu and allowing Raf Simons more freedom with Prada’s designs.
