Former Adidas designer joins Puma as creative chief
German sportswear brand Puma has appointed James Carnes to the newly created role of senior vice president of creative direction, effective immediately. Carnes will lead creative direction, innovation, and product excellence departments, reporting directly to chief brand officer Maria Valdes, as Puma pushes to become a top-three global sports brand. He brings over two decades of experience in design, creative direction, and strategy at rival Adidas in Germany and the US until 2021, most recently as an independent consultant.
