China’s fragrance industry is entering a golden era, according to the “2026 China Perfume and Fragrance Industry” report jointly released by Tmall Beauty, TMIC, and Baqiu. Fragrances are increasingly used for emotional regulation, memory-making, and cultural identity, with 56.3% of young consumers now buying based on personal preference — up over 16 points YoY. High-end fragrances are seeing double-digit growth, with domestic brands leveraging Chinese aesthetics gaining traction in the premium segment. According to Frost & Sullivan, China's cosmetics market is expected to grow at a 6.19% compound annual rate through 2028.
