Brazil launches visa-free entry for Chinese citizens

Brazil has announced visa-free entry for Chinese citizens, effective January 23. While the policy aims to stimulate tourism, significant barriers such as expensive flights, lengthy travel times, and safety concerns remain key considerations for potential travelers. Brazilian tourism data shows momentum, with nearly 6 million international arrivals in the first seven months of 2025. The country welcomed 58,000 Chinese visitors in the first half of 2025, a 40% increase over the same period the previous year. The move is reciprocal — Brazilian passport holders have enjoyed visa-free travel to China since June 2025.
