Alibaba’s Qwen app surpassed 100 million monthly active users within two months of release. The chatbot now integrates with Alibaba’s ecosystem, allowing users to order milk tea, book flights, and complete transactions without leaving the app. Qwen connects to e-commerce platform Taobao and travel agency Fliggy, with food-delivery transactions currently supported. A new task assistant feature helps users make phone calls and process up to 100 documents simultaneously. “What we are launching today represents a shift from models that understand to systems that act,” said Wu Jia, Alibaba vice president, at Thursday’s Hangzhou launch event.
