Turkey announced visa-free entry for holders of ordinary Chinese passports, effective January 2, 2026. Chinese citizens can now stay in Turkey for up to 90 days within any 180-day period for tourism or transit purposes. The move aims to boost tourism from China, one of Turkey’s fastest-growing visitor markets. In 2024, Chinese tourist arrivals to Turkey grew 65.1% YoY to 410,000, contributing to the country’s international tourism recovery. The policy follows expanded flight capacity between the two countries, with Turkish Airlines increasing frequencies on routes to Shanghai, Beijing, and Guangzhou, improving connectivity for Chinese travelers.
