Spanish fashion retailer Mango announced it has started setting up its first new-concept store in mainland China at Shenzhen's Coastal City shopping mall. This marks the brand’s return to physical retail after a two-year hiatus. Founded in Barcelona in 1984, Mango entered China in 2002 and once operated around 200 stores. Due to strategic adjustments, this declined to just over 50 locations, with only one remaining by 2023. Since 2021, the brand paused physical expansion, focusing on e-commerce through Tmall and JD.com. The move is supported by strong financial performance: Mango reported a 12% YoY increase in global revenue in first-half 2025, reaching 1.73 billion euros ($1.87 billion).
