LVMH has denied claims by Nicolas Puech, a fifth-generation Hermès heir, who alleges the luxury conglomerate unlawfully acquired his Hermès shares. Puech filed a civil suit seeking billions in damages, blaming his former wealth manager for his fortune’s disappearance. LVMH dismissed allegations as “a clearly coordinated media campaign” and threatened legal action, asserting it “never diverted shares of Hermès International in any manner.” The dispute stems from LVMH’s 2010 Hermès stake acquisition via equity swaps, settled in 2014. Puech claims his former manager sold his 5.8% Hermès stake without knowledge. A criminal investigation into Puech’s fortune remains ongoing in France.
