Geely and Renault have formally inaugurated their new joint venture, Renault Geely do Brasil, at the Ertong Senna Industrial Park. The venture will invest 3.8 billion Brazilian reals ($740 million) to localize EV production in Brazil, with manufacturing scheduled to begin in H2 2026. Two models based on Geely’s GEA electric platform will be produced locally, and a new Renault model using a dedicated EV platform is expected in 2027. The partnership leverages Renault’s manufacturing facilities and dealer network combined with Geely’s EV technology. Two Geely models, the EX5 and EX2, are already sold in Brazil through Renault’s sales channels.
