China extends visa-free access for France, Sweden

China will extend visa-exemption arrangements to France and other countries until December 31, 2026, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mao Ning announced Monday. Sweden will receive visa-free entry from November 10, 2025 through the same date. The decision implements China’s commitment to expand high-level opening-up and facilitate personnel exchanges. Additionally, China’s National Immigration Administration announced the 240-hour visa-free transit program will expand to five more ports in Guangdong Province, effective Wednesday. This raises eligible ports from 60 to 65, allowing travelers from 55 countries to stay up to 240 hours without a visa before heading to a third destination.
