Hilton announced the opening of the Shanghai Qiantan Waldorf Astoria, marking a symbolic milestone of 888 operating hotels in China. Shanghai has become only the third city globally, after New York and Istanbul, to host two Waldorf Astoria properties. The new hotel, located in Pudong’s Qiantan area, features 204 rooms and suites starting from 52 sqm, with over 90% offering panoramic river views. The property includes multiple dining venues, including a rooftop Chinese restaurant led by Michelin-starred chef Yang Yanbin. The 888-hotel milestone reflects Hilton’s accelerated expansion in China, where it has grown its room count nearly tenfold over the past 12 years.
