Tesla’s Shanghai factory launches Q4 push

Tesla has launched a production blitz at its Shanghai Gigafactory for Q4, Vice President Tao Lin announced. The push aims to accelerate deliveries in China and Asia-Pacific. The Shanghai factory’s capacity has surged from 250,000 units in 2020 to over 2 million annually after a 2025 expansion, now accounting for an estimated 65% of Tesla’s global output. This follows a September sales rebound, where Tesla sold 71,000 vehicles in China. The Model Y led with 59,900 units, becoming the month’s best-seller. The recovery comes after global revenue fell over 10% and Chinese sales dropped 5.4% in the first half.
