Demna’s 1st Gucci collection drives footfall
Gucci’s “see now, buy now” strategy for Demna’s debut collection is showing early success in the U.S. Following the September 23 Milan show, products became immediately available in 10 flagship stores. Foot-traffic data from Placer.ai shows the Rodeo Drive store in Los Angeles saw weekly visits up 53% from the previous week, while the Wooster Street store in New York rose 19%. Countrywide U.S. store visits reached their highest level in three weeks post-launch. The collection will roll out more broadly in January. Demna, who joined Gucci amid industry-wide creative reshuffles, aims to reverse the brand’s two-year sales decline.
