Fragrance and cosmetics ingredients maker Givaudan has started construction of a new production base in Guangzhou. The facility represents an investment of 360 million RMB ($50.4 million), and will cover nearly 30,000 sqm. The site will combine R&D and intelligent manufacturing, featuring a creative center for perfumers, analysts, and marketing teams, alongside highly automated production lines. About 150 employees from an existing factory will relocate once the new base is operational in two years. CEO Gilles Andrier said the investment is key to Givaudan’s China strategy, citing strong growth in the country’s premium fragrance market.
