Perfume maker Givaudan unveils creative hub in Shanghai

Swiss fragrance giant Givaudan announced the opening of its Fine Fragrance Creative Center, dubbed “L’Appartement 125,” in downtown Shanghai. The center aims to facilitate collaborations between Givaudan’s perfumers and Chinese brands, setting a new standard for fragrance development in the region. Givaudan CEO Gilles Andrier noted that since entering the Chinese market in 1988, the company has experienced significant growth and transformation, emphasizing the importance of China as a key market and source of inspiration. The creative center was designed by Chinese designer Ma Wen and combines modern technology with traditional craftsmanship. It features a fully operational lab, an interactive fragrance wall, and a sensory garden, providing innovative ways for clients to engage with fragrances. The design incorporates natural materials inspired by Chinese traditional aesthetics, creating a tranquil atmosphere for exploration and creativity.
