Vans named Grammy-winning artist SZA as its first artistic director, marking a long-term creative partnership. In her new role, she will shape upcoming campaigns and co-design exclusive collections, including footwear and apparel reflecting her personal style. The first collaboration spotlights the black-and-white Knu Skool, one of SZA’s favorite models. Originally released in 1997 as a reinterpretation of the Old Skool, the design draws from skate culture and features a padded tongue, oversized laces, and 3D side stripes.
