JD.com completes Hong Kong supermarket acquisition

JD.com completed its acquisition of Hong Kong-based Kai Bo Supermarket, marking the company’s entry into the city’s brick-and-mortar retail sector. Following the deal, JD.com established an “Innovative Retail – Kai Bo Division,” led by Jiapao founder Lam Siu-yee. Jiapao operates more than 90 stores across Hong Kong with over 1,000 employees, offering frozen poultry and seafood, grains, oils, fresh produce, and groceries.
