China’s NEV wholesale sales reached 1.18 million units in July, up 25% YoY but down 4.8% from June. Fourteen of the top 20 brands saw monthly declines, with BYD down nearly 10% to 341,000 units — its first drop this year. Geely defied the trend with more than 130,000 units sold, more than doubling YoY, driven by strong performances from Galaxy, Lynk & Co, and Zeekr. Tesla’s sales fell 5.2% from June and 8.4% YoY, marking its eighth consecutive annual decline in China. GAC Aion dropped 25%, pressured by low-cost domestic rivals and higher-end competitors.
