Pop Mart sues 7-Eleven over fake Labubu dolls

Chinese toy giant Pop Mart International Group has filed a lawsuit against U.S. convenience store chain 7-Eleven, accusing it of selling counterfeit versions of its popular Labubu dolls. According to Pop Mart, the alleged knockoffs closely resemble the original products but exhibit significant manufacturing flaws, such as poor stitching and deformed heads. The company is seeking financial compensation, a public correction of advertising, and a court order to stop the sale of the counterfeit items. Labubu dolls have gained a cult following, becoming coveted fashion and collector accessories. Pop Mart's rapid growth in the U.S. market reflects this popularity — its June sales reportedly surged by 5,000% YoY. Pop Mart has previously won two intellectual property lawsuits in China.
