French label Marithé François Girbaud debuts in mainland China

On July 4, French fashion label Marithé François Girbaud (MFG) opened its first store in mainland China, located on the second floor of Xintiandi Style I in Shanghai. The store features a minimalist interior with light brown wooden fixtures and walls, designed to create a warm and understated atmosphere. Founded in 1972 by designer duo Marithé Bachellerie and François Girbaud, MFG is known for its deconstructed tailoring and innovations in denim. The brand rose to global prominence in the 1990s and 2000s and gained popularity among celebrities such as Michael Jordan. It plans to open additional stores in Shanghai’s IAPM Mall and Beijing’s Taikoo Li Sanlitun.
