Japan’s Kao recalls 165,000 Curel lotions in China
Japanese personal care giant Kao Corporation has announced a voluntary recall of approximately 165,000 units of its Curel Moisture Body Lotion (410ml) after discovering that some products were mistakenly filled with an older formula intended for overseas markets. The recall covers multiple production batches, with some affected products sold in China, including on Tmall. Kao emphasized that while the products contain an outdated formula, they remain legally sellable in overseas markets and pose no quality or safety risks. The company is initiating the recall as a precautionary measure. The incident highlights growing scrutiny over product quality in the beauty and personal care industry.
