Kering Eyewear acquires Italian lens maker Lenti

Kering Eyewear announced on June 10 that it will acquire Italian manufacturer Lenti from Safilo Group. Based in Bergamo, Lenti has been a Safilo subsidiary since 1996 and employs around 100 people. The company specializes in injection molding and surface treatments for lenses and protective components used in eyewear, automotive, and lighting applications. The acquisition will enhance Kering Eyewear’s in-house research and development (R&D) capabilities for high-performance, Italian-made sun lenses. Financial terms were not disclosed.
