China waives visa requirements for 5 South American countries

China will allow citizens of Brazil, Argentina, Chile, Peru, and Uruguay to enter without visas for stays up to 30 days starting June 1, the foreign ministry announced yesterday. The one-year trial policy covers tourism, family visits, and business travel as part of Beijing’s push to promote cross-border exchanges. The move follows a summit with Community of Latin American and Caribbean States leaders, where President Xi Jinping signaled deeper regional cooperation.
