Macau tour group arrivals up 9.1% despite room supply drop

Macau recorded 550,000 tour group arrivals in Q1 2025, up 9.1% YoY, according to the Statistics and Census Service. Of these, 477,000 were from Mainland China, up 6.3%, while international tour group visitors increased 19.8% to 60,000. Hotel room supply declined 5.8% YoY to 44,000 rooms, but average occupancy rose 5.2 percentage points to 90.1%. The average stay remained steady at 1.7 nights. Meanwhile, 124,000 Macau residents purchased outbound travel services via travel agencies, an 8.7% increase, with 31,000 joining outbound tour groups — up 21% from the previous year.
