China’s Q1 exports rise 6.9%
According to customs data, China’s total goods trade reached 10.3 trillion RMB ($1.42 trillion) in Q1, a YoY increase of 1.3%. Exports rose 6.9% to 6.13 trillion RMB ($844 billion), while imports fell 6% to 4.17 trillion RMB ($574 billion). Monthly trade growth has gradually recovered, from a 2.2% decline in January to 6% growth in March. Foreign-invested enterprises contributed 2.99 trillion RMB ($412 billion) to trade during the quarter, up 0.4% YoY and marking the fourth consecutive quarter of growth.
