Matthieu Blazy begins Chanel tenure with new hires

Matthieu Blazy officially began his role as Artistic Director at Chanel on April 1, following the conclusion of a non-compete agreement, and has started assembling his design team in preparation for his first collection with the house. Among the first appointments is Andrew Heather, a seasoned designer formerly with Maison Margiela, who will join Chanel’s haute couture atelier in June. Heather, a graduate of the Royal College of Art, brings experience from major fashion houses including Givenchy, Revillon, Celine, and Chloé. Blazy is also expected to bring Michael Giugliano, former head of brand expansion at Bottega Veneta, into the fold. His debut collection for Chanel is slated to be unveiled during Paris Fashion Week in October.
