Watsons to launch 500 new stores across mainland China
Hong Kong health care and beauty care retailer brand Watsons has announced plans to open 500 new stores across mainland China this year, with a focus on expanding into third-tier and lower-tier cities. The retailer will also enter 100 new county-level markets as part of its growth strategy. Nearly half of the planned stores will be located in smaller cities, aiming to expand Watsons’ presence in underserved regions. The company will also continue investing in its instant retail services and explore a community store model to better meet shifting consumer preferences. The new community stores will be situated near established residential areas in first- and second-tier cities, offering essential skincare, personal care, and wellness products alongside select in-store services.
