Japanese luxury brand Menard closing all China counters

Japanese high-end cosmetics brand Menard is set to completely withdraw its counters in China, with the possibility of exiting the market entirely. The customer service team of Menard’s Tmall flagship store has denied rumors of an exit, but sources suggest that its offline counters will be fully withdrawn by the end of March, and the domestic factory will also shut down, though the timeline for the closure of its online flagship store remains uncertain. Established in 1959, Menard entered the Chinese market in 1994 and set up Suzhou Baimei Cosmetics Co. At its peak, the brand had over 200 counters in China.
