Dubai sees 31% surge in Chinese visitors in 2024

Dubai experienced a 31% increase in Chinese visitors in 2024, with 824,000 tourists from China contributing to a record-breaking 18.72 million overall visitors, a 9% rise from the previous year, according to Dubai’s Department of Economy and Tourism. The emirate's efforts to attract Chinese tourists included enhanced payment services, Chinese-language tour guides, and special events during Chinese New Year. Dubai's tourism growth was also bolstered by successful promotional campaigns in over 60 countries and collaborations with 3,000+ international organizations, alongside an expanding tourism infrastructure with 832 hotels, including new luxury properties, and a high hotel occupancy rate of 78.2%.
