Kosé pivots to ASEAN as China sales slump

Japanese beauty group Kosé Group’s full-year 2024 financial report shows a 7.4% revenue increase to 322.7 billion yen ($2.3 billion), but net profit fell 35.3% to 7.5 billion yen ($52 million). Cosmetics revenue rose 6.2% to 255.349 billion yen ($1.8 billion), and beauty division sales grew 12.3% to 64.7 billion yen ($452 million). However, sales in Asia (excluding Japan) dropped 23%, with China's sales down 33.4%. Despite challenges in China, Kosé is shifting its focus from the Greater China market to ASEAN and India for future growth.
