BYD sets overseas sales record

BYD, the world’s largest electric vehicle (EV) maker, set a new overseas sales record last month, with a 83% YoY increase in international sales. In total, BYD sold over 300,500 new energy vehicles (NEVs), nearly 50% more than January 2023. Its commercial vehicle sales surged 793%, while passenger vehicle sales included 125,377 EVs and 171,069 plug-in hybrids, marking significant year-on-year growth. The Ocean series and Song Plus models were the top sellers. Overseas, BYD sold a record 66,336 NEVs, supported by expanding production with new plants in Thailand, Indonesia, Mexico, and other countries. As the company continues its push into international markets, BYD aims to increase its market share in 2025, building on its recent successes.
