French skincare brand RoC closes Xiaohongshu flagship store

French skincare brand RoC has announced the closure of its official store on Xiaohongshu, ceasing operations immediately but continuing customer service until February 28. This marks the first significant international brand exit from China in 2025, following Bridgepoint Capital’s acquisition of RoC a year ago. RoC entered the Chinese market in 2020, establishing e-commerce channels but struggling to compete with rising domestic brands like Proya and Winona. While niche, RoC has maintained a positive reputation among consumers, leaving open the possibility of a future return to China.
